Race Course Overview

Starting from the West Gate of the Liangzhu Ancient City Site on Huaxing Road, the course follows: Huaxing Road → Shuixi North Road → Anxi Intersection → Shuixi North Road (refueling point at 10.5 km) → East Shuixi Greenway → Anxi Intersection → East Shuixi Greenway Pingjiang Pier (finish at 21 km). Almost completely flat, it features an average gradient of 0.05%, a total elevation gain of just 11 metres, and a total distance of 21 kilometres.

Your 21 km Individual Time Trial (ITT) route around the Liangzhu Ancient City Ruins is a flat, fast, out-and-back style course along the Liangzhu water system and greenway roads. The route is framed by the 5,000-year-old Liangzhu archaeological landscape, combining:

  • Wetland canals and landscaped greenways
  • UNESCO World Heritage atmosphere and branding potential

Route Description – Segment by Segment

Start – 0 km: West Gate, Huaxing Road

Riders launch from the west entrance of the archaeological park, setting the tone with a powerful start in a historically significant setting.

0 – 3 km: Huaxing Road → Shuixi North Road

Wide, straight urban roads ideal for early acceleration, allowing riders to quickly settle into their aero position and pacing.

3 – 10.5 km: Shuixi North Road

Long, flat sections following waterways and semi-rural scenery – a pure power segment where consistent output and cadence are rewarded.

10.5 km – Feed / Turning Area: Anxi Intersection

A designated refueling and technical support point around the Anxi Intersection, also serving as a key turning and timing marker on the course.

10.5 – 15 km: East Shuixi Greenway

Scenic greenway cycling paths tracking canals and wetlands, where riders experience smooth surfaces, calm surroundings, and uninterrupted tempo riding.

15 – 21 km: East Shuixi Greenway to Finish – Pingjiang Pier

The final kilometres continue along the East Shuixi Greenway, leading to the finish at Pingjiang Pier – a fast closing section where riders empty the tank to the line.
